The Glass On The Tank

These white things, can you describe them a bit more? Are they like tiny worms? Do they have legs? You might need a magnifying glass to see properly.
If they are worms about the width of a hair and a couple of mm long, they are nematodes oops, that should be planaria, a type of flatworm  . Perfectly harmless, some fish will eat them. But they do indicate you are feeding a bit too much. Cut down on the fish food and they should go away. As a rule of thumb, a fish's stomach is the same size as its eye, so you need to feed the equivalent of one eye per fish. Yes I do realise that's not as easy as it sounds 
If they are not worms, can you give as good a desciption as you can. I do realise that taking a photo won't be an option unless you have some kind of super camera
