He coloured up very quickly, though I still don't think he's fully settled in. I've been busy buying more broad leaf plants. Just picked up an Echinodorus Ozelot and some Cryptocoryne Balansae. They should give him some more areas to graze.

I'd love to see a photo of your Stiphodon if you fancy sharing.

Mine won't be in the main tank for a  of weeks so probably won't be looking their best for a while.

I haven't uploaded a photo on here before, but will try and catch him later today. Don't think they'll look as good as your pics, but I'll do my best!

Visited a new MA yesterday and they were selling Pygmy Cories at £15 for 11! Made me wish I had a bigger tank! They also had natural Honey Gouramis and some Emerald Dwarf Rasbora, two fish I'd love to own. I can see why multiple tank syndrome is such a serious problem!

I moved the three Stiphodon into the main tank last night.

Today I've only seen two, and they're setling in nicely.

Rather worried that I haven't seen the third, hopefully the stress of the move wasnt too much.

Hopefully s/he will show up in the next day or so.  :-\

Be prepared for a very clean tank!

My little guy tends to hide away for long periods so I wouldn't be too worried. I bet they'll make an appearance soon enough. I hope they colour up as well as you hope. My one tends to brighten and fade at different times of the day, but definitely getting a little more impressive with each passing day.

I hope you enjoy their extremely unusual behaviour.

Thanks Cod. That gives me more confidence. There are plenty of places to hide.

I'm pleased even if they don't show any extreme colour change.
They're quite attractive with stripes and flecks and little flashes of electric blue. If they colour up even more then that's just a bonus.

I'm pleased that I've  already seen them grazing on algae on the top of my bogwood, on the glass, on the plastic filter cover and even trying to balance on a stem of Sagittaria. :)

They are really interesting fish. I'm so glad you mentioned them here.

I saw all three this morning, for the 1st time since introducing them to the tank.

 ;D

They're settling in well and doing a great job of hoovering up.

I'm pleased that it seems their favourite spot is resting on top of the bogwood, so  I can usually see at least one whenever I look.

I'll try and get a photo or two one of these days.

Glad to hear it! I haven't been able to take a photo that does mine any justice. Hope you have more luck!

Nice looking fish! Any algae left in the tank?

I wonder if I can get hold of a couple, I dont recall seeing them in the shops I visit but maybe I just didnt notice because I wasn't looking specifically for them.

I had to take the golden sucking loach back yesterday, he'd doubled in size in the short time I had him. This week I noticed him getting a wee bit naughty with the other fish at feeding time, this changed to out right aggression a couple of days ago. He'd also started stalking my cories for want of a better word, it was weird to watch it, a corie would swim off and he'd swim after it and then prop himself up on his front  fins just behind it and wait for it to move again. I didnt think hed grow so fast or get territorial that quickly, shame cos he was very good at cleaning up the algae.
