Opinion about my new otos

I noticed that there were a couple of rogue Oto's that were living amongst other species and had clearly been in residence for a while, so a couple of weeks ago I asked them to be put aside.
They're nice and chubby looking and a little larger than the ones in the Oto tank.

So, I plan going tomorrow to collect the two and select 4 of the fattest from the Oto tank. (buy 5 get 1 free)

Now, the pair I've already chosen have been in isolation for a fortnight and I checked them over last weekend and they look fine.

My question is this: should I put all six in quarantine, or should I ask LFS to bag separately the two and introduce them into the main tank immediately (as I feel they've, effectively, been quarantined already) and put the other 4 in quarantine.

What's your opinion?

Are they all in the same shop, and in tanks located near each other?

Shops often run all the tanks in the same rank off a common filtration system. Ask if this is the case here because if it is, mix them and put all of them in quarantine.

If they can guarantee that the tank the two are in has not been in a filtration system with any other tank, they should be fine to be bagged separately and go in the main tank.

Doh! :-[ Of course! I hadn't even considered the fact they're all on the same system.

Thanks Sue. I will quarantine them all as usual.

Good move - better safe than have regrets later.
