Odd Growth On Bogwood

As part of the building of my new 180ltr tank I added some Bogwood, with attached Java Moss and Anubias barteri var. coffeefolia.  Over the last fortnight I've noticed a small white growth appearing on one part of the Bogwood and I'm having difficulty in identifying what it is.

I took a snap of it tonight prior to removing with my vacuum, which I've attached below.

Any ideas what it might be?

Didn't take much effort to suck it off with the vacuum, so seems to have grown from the surface, rather than from a root.  I was thinking along the lines of 'Staghorn' algae.

Staghorn (as per the page you linked to on my other thread) seems a lot thinner (hair like) than this growth.  If it comes back I may keep one growth going to see if it grows any larger.  Might make identification easier.
