i have a 200 ltr community tank. i love upside down catfish (udc)but the only time i ever see them is if i make them come out for cleaning and a head count.
i have 4 udc, there are loads of hiding places and artificial plants but still i never see them. yes i know they are nocturnal, so am i. any ideas how to make them come out and play

What's your lighting like? I have heard about nocturnal fish being enticed from their hidey-holes by the use of blue 'moonlight' leds. You could try some of those. Or just for experimentation, get some blue celluloid type filter, no a photographic or theatrical filter, and place over your normal lights. You can get some suitable stuff from a photographic shop.
