Honey Gourami - maturing or sick?

I have recently bought 3 honey gourami's. They have been in the tank about a week now and one of them, male I think, has developed dark/black markings under his eyes. Is this normal or is he sick?
I have tried to get a pic but every time I get the camera out he swims behind the plants. It seems he is like me, camera shy!

Any ideas gratefully received :)

The male does develop dark patches below his chin. See the profile here.  If that's what they look like, then all's well.

:) Thanks Steve, seems like he is just growing up. I will keep an eye on him and his ladies!

From the photo, it looks like he is a yellow coloured honey gourami like mine. They do get a dark throat but it isn't as extensive as the natural coloured male like the one in Steve's link.
