I've just noticed some 'worms' in my shrimpery. They're very thin, almost like hair, they're different lengths, the longest I've spotted is about .5cm long. They seem to float in the water occasionally wriggling. Anyone know what they might be or if I should be worried by them?

They are harmless. Most people call them planaria, though Richard W said a while ago now that they aren't, they're actually detritus worms.
They usually live in the substrate but move into the water if there is too much food causing a population explosion. Curing that usually cures the worm over-population. They aren't much of a problem in fish tanks as fish will eat them, but I don't think shrimps will.

Ok thanks Sue, that's a relief. I'm actually buying some platinum tetras tomorrow to put in the shrimpery so hopefully that'll solve the issue. I guess I'd better cut back on the amount of food I put in there as well. I can't believe this thread has been read 51 times already!
