Goldfish Fish Food?

Hi All.

A few weeks ago I bought another tank on eBay. It came with loads of treatments and some fish food. Some of the food is intended for goldfish. My question is can I feed it to my tropical fish?

There is a 50g tub of Aquarian Goldfish flake food and a 34g tub of Tetra Goldfish sticks (not sure why they are called sticks; the look like pellets). Both are nearly full, so would save me a few quid if I can use them. 

Any ideas?

Feeding them goldfish food will be fine once or twice a week to vary their diet but shouldn't be fed goldfish food permanently because it has more grains and vegetable matter and less protein than is sufficient for tropical fish. Use tropical fish food flakes as a staple diet then use the goldfish food once maybe twice a week if you want to use them up.

If I was in your situation I'd personally give or sell them to someone who has goldfish and buy tropical fish food to be on the safe side. Hope this has helped
