Title: Competition for food
Post by: Littlefish on March 10, 2016, 10:37:05 PM
I'm looking at setting up a 125L (80cm) tank with a moderate flow rate & high O2 because the first fish I wanted was a reticulated hillstream loach. Although I have been distracted by several other things, I'm now getting back to looking into this. I have used the CC to see if there were any red flags to having 5 RHS, along with a bulldog catfish (so many pets in one animal, and a cute face), and possibly a dwarf plec, along with a few shoaling fish.
Although the CC hasn't raised any warnings I just have a few concerns about having so many algae eaters/bottom feeders in the same tank. Even if I provide wafers and veggies, will there be too much competition at the bottom of the tank to make this a sensible option?
Any advice welcome  :)
