Catfish friends together?

If I can't get another two 2 salt and pepper catfish next week, would my two little ones appreciate the company of peppered catfish or will they see them as bigger rivals.
What about Panda corys. Would they get on with those.

In other words would the extra 2 catfish, irrespective of species, make up the four so they are all happy together. I like the look of Pandas if I can't get salties

Questions questions. I'm always full of them

Thanks for your patience.

Shoaling fish are always happiest with others of their own species. They shoal with related species if forced to by lack of their own.

More the same is the better option.

And Peppered cories are MUCH bigger than Salt and Pepper. I doubt if they'd mix well at all.

Thanks both. I think anyway that the Pandas require a bit higher temp. than I have.
So salt and pepper it is then.
Have just put blanched courgette in the tank and they're not interested.

Cories don't care much for veggies. They will eat it if there is nothing else but they do better with high protein pellets/granules and small live/frozen live food such as daphnia and cyclops. The bigger cories are fine with larger live food, but the dwarf varieties like your salt & pepper and my pygmies need it small.

...and, if they don't eat the food that they're meant to, keep persevering. My cories love algae wafers and I'm attempting to get them to eat the carnivore alternative, to no avail so far; however, I'll keep persevering until they eventually realise it's ok. Another food they like is the Fresh Delica daphnia although I expect the live/frozen versions are better.

Daphnia is on my shopping list.

They did have a little nibble of the wafer though.

They must be getting enough from the algae at the moment. We were remarking today that the corys  must us so much energy darting around like they do
