Title: Bristlenose pleco
Post by: Danny on November 15, 2014, 10:48:23 PM
New to fish keeping.  Have two bristlenose Plecoptera that had about 30 babies two weeks ago.  Not sure what to do with them.  Would the local shop take them?  When should I take them out the tank

bristle nose are not actually plecs
there ancistrus the name plec comes
from the hypostomus plecostomus
they should all be named really after
there species or genus like peckoltia
or Baryancistrus there is so many
not all of them have names they have L
numbers

Shops only take baby fish once they have reached saleable size. That means the size they are in the shop tanks. You do need to grow them to that size, but you can always start asking your local shops now.
As for when to remove the babies, I'm afraid I can't help with that as I've never had bristlenoses  :-\
