Boesmani rainbow fish help

I've bought a tank complete with fish and it was running at 23 degrees when I picked it up. One of the fish is a boesmani rainbow fish and it says on here it should be kept at at least 26 degrees. Will he be ok at 23/24? As the other fish I have seem to be slightly cooler water fish although there is a fair few I don't know what they are yet.

I would increase the temp slowly to about 25 deg. I know there has been a link recently to an article saying we keep our tanks too warm, but 25 is below the recommended for bosemans.

Once you know what the other fish are, we can work out the best temps for the tank. You may find that a bit of fish shuffling between the new tank and the 70 litre solves the problem.

Unfortunately the 70 litre has to go😢 as my husband only wants one tank. I am working on him though 😉 I think I might have to upload some pics of the other fish as I am struggling. I know def that one is a clown loach and one is a ruby shark. I should probably message the last owner to find out what he bought.

you could always say to him that you will keep the 70 liter tank out the way some were as emergancy quratine tank if needed and then over time gradualy work it out on to a nice corner some were and say well it wasnt needed as a quratine tank so we can fill it with fish , once that is achived you then have a excuse to go and get a 3rd tank as a emergancy quarartine tank.MTS is a hard thing to controll.
i have a few clown loaches in my tank currently and i  have found that they are deafantly alot more happier at 25- 26 degrees after i noticed i hadnt switched my heater back on and the tank temp droped a little they seemed to go very sleepy now its back up to those temps there much happier and zooming all over the place.

I would definitely ask the previous owner if he knows what the fish are. There may be fish that grow too big (clown loaches need tanks at least 150cm long), fish that should be in bigger numbers (eg clown loaches should be in a group of at least 6), fish that have very different requirements etc. Once you know what they all are, you can decide if some need to be rehomed, which ones you need to buy more of and so on.

I'm not surprised, probably the majority of fish keepers out there don't bother to check compatibility of fish before they buy, they just think "I want THOSE ones" based on looks alone and add them to the tank regardless. When I was buying used tanks off EBay I didn't bid on several good tanks nearby because I wouldn't have been able to provide a decent home for the fish that were included, especially various sharks, cichlids etc., all of which grow large.

However, you now have the perfect reason to insist that you must keep your 70l tank as well, so that you can separate the incompatible fish into two tanks.
