Title: Baby mollies
Post by: Wil7985 on November 25, 2016, 11:31:15 AM
Found 2 baby black mollies in my tank this morning, don't have a fry tank etc, any ideas how I should look after them, feel quite proud though.

Congratulations.

Plenty of places to hide is probably what got them this far.
How big are they and have you got any pictures?  ;D

If there are plenty of places to hide, a few fry will always make it. I would just leave them where they are. Livebearer females can have quite a lot of fry every month so you won't have room for every one that is born.

Livebearer fry can take quite large food right from birth. If you feed flakes, crush a few to almost powder and the fry will do fine on that.

Will try and take some photos, but I'd say their about 4/5mm in length. I realize its nothing new, but can't help feeling excited.

it's lovely being able to watch them grow up, and you can't help but have a bit of a soft spot for them.  :)
