There was a discussion on here recently about Assassin Snails in which I commented that my folks had some but they hadn't made any inroads into their pest snail population, however they were breeding so hopefully the increased numbers would make a difference.
Well they have - when visiting on Friday I noticed that their pest snails have been almost entirely cleared out!
Which brings me to my query; once all the pest snails have be assassinated, will the assassins turn to 'normal' snail eating practices, i.e. not starve through lack of mollusc related snacking? ???

Ooh, and a second query - could Assassin Snails tackle snails larger than themselves? :o

Here (http://www.wetwebmedia.com/ca/volume_6/volume_6_4/clea.html) is an article on assassins (and Sulawesi snails). The author is one of the most respected writers in the hobby. He covers both of your questions :)

Brilliant, thanks Sue

Interesting article. Thanks Sue.
After reading it I have just bought 10 of them from eBay. Hopefully they will control my ever-expanding population of Malaysian Trumpet Snails. :vcross:
