Post by: fruitbat on January 15, 2016, 05:48:52 PM
hi all, i have just added 2 guppys to my established tank, consists of mollys, rummys, cardinals and platys..the thing is one of them chases a molly and tries to bite it, going for the gill region, its relentless at chasing him and some times going for the platys,  i have put him in isolation for now but is he normal or a bit weird in his behaviour ... any suggestions or is it send him back to the fish shop i got him from..  thanks

Guppies can be aggressive but it's usually male guppies with male guppies. I've not heard of one going for a molly before.
Unless of course the molly is female and he's just trying to mate with her?

As with most animals, there is always the chance of a rogue individual. I think I'd be inclined to see if the shop will have him back.

What do you call a Guppy / Molly cross?

A Golly? A Moppy? A Muppy?
