I thought that the fish looked surprisingly relaxed considering there was a phone in the tank. Some of mine head in the other direction as soon as they see the phone outside the tank.
How's your bristlenose doing?

The bristlenose is great, just goes about his/her business (still too early to sex) not being bothered by anyone else. The plastic plants have proven a hit with all the fish but especially the plec... It wouldn't leave them alone for days!! It also ensures that it gets the lions share of the algae wafers that I drop in every 3-4 days, despite the cherry barbs clambering over it for a nibble!

So yeah, happy plec  ;D

Great to hear that the plec is doing well.
Mine potters along doing its own thing and not being bothered, but it is in a tank of mid to surface tank dwellers, so its basically got the whole of bottom of the tank to itself. I'm amazed at the amount of mess they make with the wood though.  ;D

I've not really found that it makes much mess at all... If anything it's doing a great job cleaning up the wood of it's years of accumulated dark brown algae...

Perhaps it's just mine then. It looks as if he's eating the wood and pooping splinters! Perhaps he's just a messy eater.

I'll post some pics up tonight when I'm home. Just posting an update during a work break...

Some of you might have seen in the Daily News thread that I've added 5 glowlight tetras to my tank to give the original one some mates. Since I added them quite late last night I just left the lights off and reset the timer to come on this morning after I had left for work. So I've yet to observe them in their new home.

I decided against trying to retrieve the lone glowlight and return him since he grew very quickly and seemed happy and brave enough to come up for food and shoal with other tetras  :)

Im also really happy with the setup in the tank now. The Hygrophila Polysperma have grown incredibly well and have given the decor some real height which is great. The addition of a 6 inch airstone in the back left corner has reduced the bubble noise (irritating after a while watching telly and no doubt for the fish as well!)

It has had the unexpected result of changing where the shoals do most of their schooling in the evenings, they used to school at the back whereas now the bubbles are further back and they now school across the front panel, showing off their colours to great effect!

Pics to follow

Wonderful! How did the lone glowlight react when he saw more of his own kind? Did he seem excited? Did he go immediately from shoaling with the neons to "heading up" a shoal of his own or was there not really much of a reaction?
