Just wondering whether you've considered adding a backing to the tank? They can help hide the wires from your filter/heater and can also help your fish colours to stand out - neons do particularly well with a black background for example as it makes their neon stripe really 'pop' (sorry, went a bit American for a minute there!).

Funny you should say that about a background. I was going to but was warned against the idea by friends for some reason, I agree it would look better I was going to post a question, are backgrounds a good idea from the fish's point of view? I see what you mean about the neon's good idea, probably will get background then post another pick.

I asked my local shop to get me a small plane wreck, the one he got was huge far to big. So bought the aircraft carrier instead.

Please don't add a backing. I find that the pattern in the paper adds a visual link between your tank, specifically your jellyfish, and your room. It makes one seem more like part of the other. Plastic toys normally leave me cold, but I like how these work.

I was wondering about a backing too but as Steve pointed out your wall paper does go very well! Nice tank!

Thanks for your great comments. I will shelve the idea of the background for now then. I am amazed the wall paper and the wires in the background. I thought it was a bit ugly. Not so as it would seem. Your thoughts most appreciated. Many thanks. Mike.

Don't get me wrong... the wires are hideous! ;)

Much better :)
Did you choose your jellyfish to go with your wallpaper..or the other way round? ;)

Ha Ha, the wall paper was well before the tank. What a coincidence though. My Monitor is right next to the tank amazingly the fish like the Think fish forum too. :fishy1: Even Facebook sometimes. :rotfl:

It's aesthetics/personal preference really - I prefer a backing but some don't & it can also depend on the setting of your tank (as per some of the comments above). Looking at your pics, I find that the wallpaper draws my eye through the tank, rather than focusing on the tank and in particular the fish, but again, others will see it completely differently! What matters at the end of the day is what you prefer - if you're still in two minds then you could always buy a bit of backing to try - it's usually pretty cheap at around £2 per foot or thereabouts which is cheap enough to buy, try and then throw away if it's not for you  :)

You could even just drape a bit of blue or black fabric over the back for a bit to see what it looks like.

Or even a bin liner. Believe it or not, lots of people use those. They like black and the crinkle effect.
