First piccy is my 200 litre, I haven't put a backing on yet but I will because I feel it makes a HUGE difference. Top left a ring of plastic for my amazonian frogbit, eventually they'll cover the ring (that's the plan anyway) they've really reduced my nitrate levels. The red plant at the back and the 2 broad leaved plants have root tabs, the others are growing in soil covered with sand. I'm ignoring the diadoms on the rocks as they'll disappear eventually hopefully. I'll add fish photos later but the occupants are listed in my sig. When the backings on I'll get a piccy of that too.
Second piccy is 2 of the puffers in my first tank (55l) after an overhaul. My son took the piccy and I am delighted by the way it looks in the photo. In actuality the planting is mainly bunched caromba (I leave it banded and remove and cut back and rebind fortnightly) with some vallis in the middle, some african fern to the right behind the log (now about 4inches high), crypt on the log at the left and in front AND fluffy algae which the ottos ignore and which gets trimmed down once a month and which I actually quite like the look of. The nitrates in this tank are quite high, hence the algae and the frogbit doesn't do too well in here because the current is too fast and the tank too small for the plastic ring trick. I never have to clean the glass in here as the ottos do all the work for me; there's 8 in there somewhere which get an algae pellet ration every night.. This tank has a dark backing.
Piccy 3 is Frank gurning at the camera
