My first fish

Finally got my first fish, I have 8 Cory loxozonus and 4 dwarf neon rainbows, I'm going to get some more rainbows but the lady at the fish shop didn't seem convinced my tank was cycled and was shocked I wanted so many fish. The fish have been in for around 14 hours, are very settled and lovely  :) tested my water this morning and ammonia nitrite and nitrate all 0.

Looking good  :)

I'd never come across Corydoras loxozonus before so I had to go to planet catfish to look them up.

The lady at the shop is among the vast majority of shop workers who have never heard of or don't believe in fishless cycling. At least it wasn't Pets@Home or they wouldn't have let you buy more than 6 fish in total.

New fish day is always a good day!  I've had no problem buying fish in stores but I tell them it's an old tank established for six months.  Make sure you feed the tank rather than the fish in the meantime.  What I mean by that is put the amount of food in for what will be your total fish stock.  That way you'll avoid potential ammonia/nitrite spikes down the road from the bacteria reducing to your current fish load.  Those neon rainbows will look even better once they've grown a bit more.

Those Cories are lovely.  If I'd seen them in my LFS I would have taken them over my Pandas.

And I'll second what @marquismirage said about the rainbows.  They colour up beautifully after a few days and, apart from a mad hour in the morning after the lights go on, are very peaceful, stress free fish to have.
