Golden Pencilfish

Yes, they will colour up in your tank, or at least the males will. And they'll be less shy. They are a lovely fish. I love the way they hover in the water 






I managed to kill a whole shoal of them a few years ago  Never, ever add melafix and pimafix to a tank with golden pencilfish.  I know API deny the internet rumour about these two products and pencilfish. But I treated a tank with an iffy looking gourami and I used both at the same time as I didn't know what was wrong (the bottles say you can). All six were dead within an hour of adding the meds. I don't know if it was the melafix, pimafix or the combination that did the damage, but be warned!
It was after this I started using a hospital tank to treat a sick fish.
