Plastic fish tank with heater?

Living in a small city centre abode, with the quarantine tank having to be kept at the top of a cupboard, I'm finding it rather cumbersome getting it lifted down when it's needed, as happened a couple of months ago when a few of my pygmy cories were ill. I was thinking of getting this as a quarantine tank - http://www.therange.co.uk/rosewood-pet-keeper-plastic-tank-21-litre/fish-tanks-&-bowls/the-range/fcp-product/91544 - and could store fish equipment in it when it's not in use as a QT. Do you think it would be safe to have a heater in a plastic tank such as this? I know the temperature would only be at 24'C and it's on suction caps but I suppose I'm wondering if I'm taking a risk in case something goes awry with the heater.

I know a lot of people use plastic storage boxes as emergency tanks with no problems. I think the main danger comes if the end of the heater where the element is (ie the hottest bit) touches the plastic. If you make sure the suction cups hold this bit away from the tank it should be fine.

fcmf that's exactly the tank I'm using and am having no problem with a small 50w heater.

Great - thanks, both - and also useful to have the endorsement from someone who's using the same tank for the same purpose. Off on a day's holiday today so have been able to purchase one - all were damaged, and no undamaged ones were in stock, but I purchased the one which actually looked as though it was watertight without a crack in the main part!
