Can't help you with suggestions for something that big, I'm afraid. However; I'd love to see a progress diary about the build with lots of photos.

Eek 1100 litres that will be 1.3ton by the time its finished CHECK THE FLOOR LOADING CAPACITY !!!! :)
For something that big maybe a sump would be best because if you fill it with fish. The limitation will be the amount of bio capacity and oxygen sumps will give you the space for the media. The externals will have the flow needed but without somewhere to process the wast it wont be very effective
I bought a second hand marine tank and have just about finished a refurb job on the sump and pipework I think it will have in excess of 120litres of bio media, a uv steriliser and algae scrubber (only 500 litre tank)
Serious tank envy by the way

Beautiful fish  :) My local MA stocks quite a few of the larger rainbows. I'm sure one day my tastes will change and I'll want larger fish, I'm still in the little fish phase atm. I hope you'll be able to post some piccies when you're done.

What sort of decor are you going with?

my new tank will be situated in my unheated brick barn so i had a heat calculation done for the new tank for an average ambient  temperature of 5 deg c this will change as the weather gets colder and warmer  so even with the floor top sides and back insulated it may need 1000 watts  of power to keep 24 deg c 24 hours per day including pumps etc .so i installed a power monitor to the house and found out we should  switch suppliers with the new rate the it will cost about 14 pounds per week to run a saving of about 10 per week during the colder spells.
