I'm looking for a nano tank but unsure of what to get. Basically I'd like some makes/models to look at online to help make a decision, I do fancy a betta in the end or maybe shrimp if this will help make a choice easier. Your suggestions will be great fully received.

My betta is in a Aqua One Space 40 though I discovered that the quoted volume includes the air space contained within the frame on the outside and is actually 26 litres. It is a nice looking tank, and the clip on LED works well. The downsides? The cover glass doesn't go all the way across and since bettas are known jumpers I've has to cut down a condensation sheet to cover the gap. And the filter is waaaaay to strong for a betta!

Oh yes, and I couldn't use the shiny black background as bettas can see their reflection in it and assume it's another betta. They are not the brightest of fish.

Lol I have a small tank of about 10ltr of water in it after sand, pump and ornament is fitted, using it to home a guppy that was been bullied badly in my gf's tank. It seems to have mirrored sides so thinks it's another fish and always swims at it, again the pump outflow is to much for the tank too so wanting a better option.

I have an aquaone aquanano 40. It's a 55 litre tank that actually holds 55 litres of water, volume would be 64litres otherwise. It's pretty large for nano, but personally I think it is perfectly sized for anyone that doesn't want a 'full' sized aquarium. I keep a relatively small community in mine, including shrimp and snails. If you wanted to keep guppies you could probably keep about 10 in there. It would make a fine betta tank, and you could also keep a few compatible tank mates in there too. Keep your eye on EBay and Gumtree as you can find some gorgeous tanks with extras at knockdown prices.

Good luck with it all!

Just read this now, sorry for not getting back sooner. My Aquanano pump is very quiet, and as it's secondhand I have no idea how old it is. Would thoroughly recommend!
