Had my tank lights on, unplugged to do something then when i re-plugged in they just went, blew or something, just changed fuse and tiny flicker of of one tube but no light : ( any suggestions please.

Sometimes one or both tubes might not be seated properly and making poor contact. Try (gently!) twisting each tube in turn, there is usually some movement. That worked for me once.

Of course, it could be that one of the tubes has gone, or perhaps the starter is faulty. Is this the tank that you just bought, if so the tubes and/or starter could be old and worn out.

The fact that you have at least a small flicker from one tube suggests that the plug, fuse, wiring and switch are OK.

Thanks Richard, yes second hand tank so probably old tubes, ive replace fuse with 13amp and had a tinker, got one bulb working but pink one is a dead un so i will buy two new ones, mm should have taken dead one out when i had it undone, doh! :o

Please use the correct fuse; 3A will be more than enough for a couple of fluorescent tubes.

Thanks Steve, it is fixed on plug, and i can just make out 13A on it i think.

A fuse can always be changed and you should certainly replace a 13A (brown) with 3A (red) as Steve says. 13A is only needed for high power appliances such as kettles or heaters.
