Title: Leaking filter - advice please?
Post by: Markycopple on October 02, 2013, 12:41:30 PM
I did my usual water change yesterday instread of at the weekend (off work this week ;)) and also took the opportunity to clean out my external filter as it had been some weeks since it had been done. The filter is an aqua one aquis 1200. Sadly I have a leak now (more of a slow drip really) which looks to be from one of the taps. I have taken it apart a couple of times now and put it back together again & have also applied vaseline to every joint possible. The tank has been set up for almost 3 years now so presumably the drip is due to the rubber within the taps perishing - which in turn presumably means I need to buy a replacement set? Or am I missing something?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Mark

Hi
You can buy a maintainable pack for around £20 which includes new o rings and new taps among other spare parts , I think you would be better or should I say less expensive if you bought the pack online, if you google aquarium parts or Aquis filter parts you should find a reputable dealer, the one I use delivers free and usually within 3 days but they don't sell the pack you need.

Thanks for your feedback - I managed to get just a set of taps from Wildwoods in Enfield so hope that does the trick!
