I have a fluval 150w heater in my tank, and also a Hidom 150w as a backup set to a lower temperature then the Fluval ,so it only kicks in if the other fails. Can any one tell me if Hidoms are ok ,as i have read posts about using only good heaters

It should be OK. The ones to avoid are the very cheap Chinese imports. The kind that sell for under £10 for a 300 watt heater with either no brand or an obviously oriental name. There are some on Ebay for under £5  :o
