Both of my tanks will be upstairs with water downstairs. I have seen something called Python which cleans and empties/fills the tank but wondering if anyone else has any other suggestions?

This is probably going to be the best method.  I know lots of people swear by pythons. There quite a few DIY python videos on the web which mean you can put one together yourself and save paying the normally extortionate prices for the 'real deal'.

i use a Python would not be without it, but it would depend on the distance between the tap and the tank.
