if you have a all ponds solutions filter or a sun sun filter or an external
that as a uv fitted its always at a bad time when the quartz sleeve smashes
and its always the weekend normally sunday afternoon >:( don't despair i have
a cheap and cheerful fix that will tide you over till you can purchase one of the said
items
this is a sun sun or all ponds solutions filter they are copy's of
another well known filter can any one tell me which filter
it is a copy of ????

right i might hear you ask how is that going to help easy once
the sleeve is broken remove the bulb smash the rest of the sleeve
off down to the plastic collar (when a new sleeve is purchased it comes
with new plastic collar) right now the technical bit you will need a hot glue gun
or some quick cure silicone either work well (method right you take one of the demijohn
bungs they are the correct size to fit in the plastic collar you will need to put a bead of silicone
or hot glue around the bung and press it in to the collar this will stop the water from getting
to the connection for the uv bulb thus allowing the filter to be used till a new quartz sleeve
can be purchased ) hope this helps i know it did me when ours went its still running now
just waiting for a sleeve :rotfl:
