hi
another weird question to ask :
 i just bought a bit of bogwood for my tank and was wondering am i ok to drill some holes in it and cut it to shape it a bit to how i want or does this cause problems.

No problems at all. Some people screw a suction cup to them so they can stick it to the back of the tank - just use a stainless screw and washer. The only thing to watch out for is to keep the cut edges hidden from sight - they look very un-natural otherwise.
