Attaching Java Moss with Super Glue?

Hi all, I have a healthy batch of Java Moss which is growing well so I'd like to split it to utilise it in other areas of the tank.

I understand that Java Moss can sometimes get out of hand if not watched/managed closely and I recently watched a YouTube video from an experienced fish keeper who recommended attaching Java Moss to pieces of rock/stone/slate using Super Glue (cyanoacrylate) - a technique he used in his own tanks. This provides the benefit of making the bunches of Java Moss easy to remove and trim back as necessary.

I've looked into this a bit more and the general consensus seems to be that this is perfectly safe as the Super Glue does not react with the aquarium water in anyway. However there are some people who warn against it.

Has anyone got experience of using Super Glue in their aquarium - how did it go??

I haven't used superglue personally, but I have read that cyanoacrylate is safe.

I tie my java fern into decor, though it is easier with things like wood which have hollows and bulges to stop the thread sliding off. Rocks might be a bit trickier. I use dark green sewing cotton. It does eventually rot but by then the plants is attached and I can remove the bits of thread before the fish try to eat them..

A bit of cotton is my back-up plan - I did attach the Java Moss originally with some cotton thread but the super glue idea seems like a quick win if it's safe!

Went with cotton attachment in the end - a bit fiddly but thought best to be on the safe side.

I have used Superglue to attach "Flame" moss to redwood and it was very sucessfull. I have always found with cotton it flattens the moss and you have to be careful when trimming it  :-\ Also it is difficult to tightly tie cotton onto uneven shaped wood it has hollows and bumps etc.
No adverse reaction from the fish,  water parameters do not appear to have changed and it looks great really "flamey"  ;D

Thanks for the reply Gazza. The cotton has squashed it down somewhat but I'm hoping it will look at bit more natural once it's attached and I can remove the cotton - might be a while though!

Another reason I went with cotton though is because I ended up attaching some Java Fern to my bogwood at the same time and I wasn't sure whether the superglue could damage the rhizome. I'll definitely consider superglue for any future attachment of java moss though.
