Fish Species

A Barb is one of various ray-finned fish species in a non-phylogenetic group, with members in the family Cyprinidae, and especially the genera Barbus and Puntius.

Catfish are a diverse group of ray-finned fish. Named for their prominent barbels, which resemble a cat's whiskers - Many of the smaller species, particularly the genus Corydoras can be seen in aquaria the world over.

Cichlids are fish from the family Cichlidae in the order Perciformes. Cichlids are members of a suborder known as Labroidei, along with the wrasses, damselfishes, and surfperches. This type of fish family is both large and diverse and comprises popular fish like the Angelfish and Discus Fish.

The distribution of cichlids in the wild extends up into the lower regions of North America, and anything from the Southern United States down to Panama can be included in the group known as the Central American cichlids.
