Title: RIP significant contributors to ichthyology & aquarium hobby
Post by: fcmf on May 08, 2020, 02:55:05 PM
A couple of very significant contributors to ichthyology and the aquarium hobby have died recently:
https://www.the-scientist.com/news-opinion/ichthyologist-jack-randall-dies-67517
http://en.microcosmaquariumexplorer.com/wiki/Robert_M._Fenner - I learned this on good authority from PFK staff this morning (I gather it was completely unexpected) but one of the first 'obituaries' seems to be at the start of this thread https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/bob-fenner-has-passed-away.718024/ [Edited to add: https://www.reef2rainforest.com/2020/05/08/robert-m-fenner-1952-2020/?fbclid=IwAR3Thwl1dAA9rUFtqNim3rEkKtvQ0lyzNnIhZszjHO3fdoCICVeKNf-PZRg]
RIP, both.

Hello @fcmf

I had heard of Jack Randall but, in what specific context, I do not remember. It's odd, isn't it, that within our hobby, we don't tend to hear the names of many ichthyologists. I personally know one, her area of expertise being with plecs.
