Title: Anyone know what this fluffy thing is.
Post by: mazzamoo on May 27, 2016, 09:13:03 PM
 hello. Another question. I told you it wouldn't be long lol...   I've just been looking in my tank and spotted something that I never seen before. It actually looks like a feather duster worm like you get I'm marine. But it's green and sticking out my wood. I've tried to get close up pictures. It is very very tiny.

Is it a new plant growing of some sort or already or something else???? :yikes:

It's a type of algae. I think. I've got that growing on some of my pieces of wood. As it thickens up it looks pretty so I've left it there.

Quite attractive to my mind, I thought you meant a hydra at first, those things are a pain.

Never heard of them. Just looked the name up and don't think it's one of them as it's really fluffy like a fluffy duster. So suppose it's a Moss like plant

Looking at this site (http://www.theplantedtank.co.uk/algae.htm) it could be either hair/thread/fuzz algae or Oedogonium.
