Hi Sue
I've got the new bottle of myxazin for ulcers and fin rot . I've been running carbon in th tank since Wednesday . Also doing 5.5 L water changes daily .
Now should I treat moonbeam with this product or carry on with water changes . Is it safe to do it now ?

I would carry on with the water changes and watch Moonbeam closely. If his fins start to disintegrate rather than change colour, then start the Myxazin.

All medication added to a tank is absorbed by the fish and it doesn't do them any good. In spring my main tank became infected with a nasty strain of whitespot. After 2 months continual treatment the fish started dropping like flies. I would get up every morning to find more dead fish. I lost over half of them to a combination of whitespot and medication.
This is why I now advocate treating only when absolutely necessary eg fins that are starting to go very tatty and lose bits.

Hi
Ok I will carry on with water changes . It's getting better in places but is fading around one side of his gills . I bought him some new floating plants he's loving them ! Hanging out right under them .
Also bought new sand , nice piece of wood , bloodworms , new flowering anubias , and some iron for the plants !
I also bought some new pebbles but need white vinegar I presume to do the test as I only have malt !
But I put them in water and all little bubbles were coming out so I'm thinking some may not be ok .

Malt vinegar is OK for testing, it's still acetic acid. With any kind of vinegar you do need to rinse it off well under the tap.
The bubbles don't necessarily mean anything just that the pebbles are slightly porous and the air in them is coming out - displaced by water and of course the tank is warmer than the shop.

Be careful about adding too much iron. Anubias is slow growing so its meed for minerals is small. The floating plants might need it though.

Hi sue
One of my zebra snails died . The other one is still alive but not moving much . I'm wondering if I should put the other one back as I think there's nothing for them to eat and water perhaps too cold .
The reason I got the iron was because the Anubis I had the new leaves are yellow . I've got to try to work out the dose as it's difficult with my little tank .

It is a tricky one knowing how sensitive to meds nerites can be. If you leave the remaining snail where it is, it could die. If you put it back in the tank, it could die.
I think I'd risk putting it back but be prepared for its death.

The dead one, are you certain it is dead? They can hide in their shells with the door pulled tightly shut. There are two ways to tell if a nerite is dead. If it is hanging out of its shell it is probably dead, and if it stinks appallingly it is definitely dead. Take a very cautious sniff, the smell of a dead nerite lingers in the nose for hours

Yes it was hanging out if it's shell . I put it in a jar for a day to be certain . I didn't sniff it ! From watching them their hardly moving round so can't be eating even though I put algae wafers in and plants . I've had carbon in since we'd and with the water changes and cleaning the sides of the tank I'm hoping he won't get anymore of the medicines. Otherwise he's going to starve or freeze !
Will do another water change and. Clean sides again and hope for the best 🙈
