How long?

Hi,
I did have to treat my fish with velvet/slime medication from Interpet. The fish all look a lot more lively apart from 2 very poorly fish. However as it is a one dose treatment how long would it take before this excess slime/overall grey colour disappears?

I suspect the tank was infected by a poorly fish that had been attacked/eaten ( I had to put down) I will have to bite the bullet and put a fish to sleep earlier, though I do like to give them a chance.

Just to add that I dosed late yesterday afternoon.

I don't know if this is any help, but being something of a hoarder I have the leaflet that came with a bottle of Interpet med though it's probably quite old now. Under the entry for the velvet/slime medication it says:
"the treatment remains active for several days ensuring all the parasites are killed" though it doesn't define how long several days actually are

and
"before re-dosing.....you should wait a period of 7 days then carry out a 30% water change before dosing"

From that I assume the condition should have cleared up within 7 days but if it hasn't by then, do a water change and add some more.

Hi Sue,
Thanks for that....I made a mistake it is NT Labs treatment and not Interpet but the same advice is given.
I have lost another fish...a complete surprise as I did not think that particular one was ill and was not showing symptoms.

If it is not Velvet, and I am not certain, I have no idea what it is. My ammonia and nitrite are still at 0ppm. The grey colour/slime coat has not reduced but the fish certainly appear a lot more active.

Do not know what is happening!!! two more dead fish this morning!!
