I must be thinking of someone else with a Flex  ???

If you leave the blue turned off, you can increase the white light duration if your plants need it.

I have an LED on my Aqua One tank, I think it's a Hidom replacement after the transformer on the Aqua One light came apart. That has the choice of white & blue or blue only. So it now has strips of black insulating tape over the blue LEDs.

I would, even if you get fake ones. You do need to be careful which ones you buy. If you have cover glasses, plants like salvinia, water lettuce, frogbit etc can rot from condensation dripping on them. If you have just a hood with no cover glasses they would be OK. The two plants that are fine with cover glasses are water sprite which grows huge, or - if I dare say it - duckweed.
