Noticed these grey kind of smudges on one of my Sterbra`s. It seems fairly elusive atm as well....I was thinking White Spot but why would it be smudged like that. Hope the pictures are ok but if you look around head on Cory at top of picky one.
Any ideas ?
thanks for any help

I'm not really sure what it is. Does the cory behave normally - eating, pottering around like the others? If it is I wouldn't worry just yet as sick fish usually go off their food and sit in a corner with clamped fins.
The only possibility to watch for is fungus, which is actually a bacterial infection. If the greyness starts to get worse you will need to treat with an anti fungus and finrot medication. But you can't use it in the main tank because of your shrimps; you will need a quarantine tank to use any medication.

Thanks for reply Sue.
Its in a quarantine tank. Sitting in a small terra cotta pot right now, hasn't been feeding and looks fairly sorry for itself  :(
Ive been dosing the tank with Myxazin. The man in the shop recommended this stuff after I explained the symptons. Its on the second dose today and will have 3 more to complete the treatment. Hopefully picks up.

Thanks

Myxazin is one of the two meds I would have suggested. Fingers crossed.

Bear in mind that Myxazin contains Malachite green as it's prime active ingredient and Cory's, as they are scaleless fish, are especially sensitive to this chemical.

It is recommended that you use half dosage of Malachite green when treating Cory's.
