Title: Dwarf Golden rams
Post by: sipix1 on November 27, 2016, 11:10:00 AM
Hi I fed the fish this morning and one of my rams has a red mark on its head on both sides . it was not there last night so I need to know if this is normal or has it been in a fight or is it ill .

I could have been fighting, or it could have caught itself in some decor.

How many rams do you have, what gender are they all, and what is this fish? Males will fight over territory, and a male and female won't necessarily get on. These fish like to choose their own mates so buying any male and any female doesn't guarantee a happy result.

Do you have any decor with narrow spaces that a fish could get stuck in? Fish have been known to wedge themselves in. Since the red marks are on both sides of its head, this is a possibility.

Could you describe EXACTLY where the marks are for me and if they appear raised or indented... I have another theory but if you answer this for me first it will prevent me giving you the wrong info!..
