Hey all

Worried that my Congo tetra's have stopped eating flake food since I gave them brine shrimp. They used to be happy with flakes but wouldn't touch daphnia or bloodworm when given as a 'treat'. So I tried brine shrimp and they went crazy for it.. Trouble is they won't now eat anything else. I tried giving them nothing for a day to make them less fussy but when I gave them flakes again they went for it but just spat it straight out. :-\

PS.. My Cory's are loving all this of course but I don't want to rely on them being sustained by others leftovers

I think it is quite possible that your congo tetras are being fussy eaters!!! I don't know the correct remedy for this but if it were me i'd leave them for a couple of days and then give them flake so they are mega hungry and will hopefully just be glad of food, even if it is boring old flake!!!

I'm sure someone in the know will give you a scientifically proven method of getting your fish to eat flake in due course. I'd just go for tough love!!!  :)

spoiled,the answer is always spoiled.we always spoil our fish no matter how many times we say we are not gonna spoil them......then get spoiled.

I agree... whilst you are at it, give 'em a clip round the ear for me!  ;)

Don't worry if it takes a few days, they are likely to have a browse round. They will usually find something they can eat, most fish are omnivores; Even if they may have other preferences.

  • a clean looking tank is not always a safe tank

 :yikes: starve them for a few days it wont harm
them this is what i do it normally works
to get  them back on the flake food
