Title: Foods to feed after constipation and bloat
Post by: Ally2 on May 28, 2017, 07:14:15 PM
Hi
My betta has been suffering from bloat/ constipation . I'm now wondering what foods I should be feeding so it doesn't continue or reoccur. He was being fed omega one pellets which I wasn't pre soaking but will from now. I've also been giving him frozen daphnia to ease constipation.
What should I feed him now , is a combination of the above ok ?

Both the pellets and daphnia are fine to use. I haven't used Omega One pellets so I don't know how big they are, but don't feed too many as this is one cause of bloating. Most packs that I've used say to feed more than you should (they do want you to use them all and buy more!).

And if Moonbeam is anything like all the bettas I've had, he will eat everything you give him then beg for more. Bettas will stuff themselves to bursting point if you let them  >:(

Hi the pellets are very small until he slims down I was going to give two pellets morning and two at night , or I may do pellets in morning and daphnia at night .
I've literally had to retrain him to dive down to get the food . The daphnia sinks and so do soaked pellets . He so used to just sucking them from the surface , the food just fell to the bottom while he searched around the surface . It took a while for him to get it. I do a little at a time . It's tricky to measure the daphnia as it's just chipped off the block .
