How often would you feed Plecos and Coydros catfish with Hikari Algae Wafers.
I have 3 Coydros Catfish 3 Plecos and 3 Albinos Catfish.
Looking forward to your replies.

First of all I would not feed algae wafers to cories as they are not vegetarians. Yes, they will eat algae wafers if they are there but they also need some meat in their diet. They aren't keen on flakes so you will need a sinking pellet. I have pygmy cories so I use 0.5 mm pellets but your bigger cories can manage larger pellets than mine. I also pre-soak mine to make sure they sink quickly so that the other fish don't eat them on the way down. For just 3 cories, you only need a tiny pinch of food. If you find the other fish eat the pellets first, wait till the room is in darkness last thing at night and put the pellets in then. Cories will feed during the night.
But you could also do with more cories as they are shoaling fish.

I don't have plecs so I'll let someone else deal with them.

What are the albino catfish, albino bristlenoses?

Ah, I wasn't sure what the albinos were. There are a few cory species that come in 'albino'. You do have a shoal of cories in that case.

I feed New Life Spectrum small fish sinking pellets I know the link says for marine fish but on NLS website it is under freshwater. They also make a 1 mm sinking 'Community Formula' as well which would be OK for bigger cories. I have never found a shop which sells this brand so I get mine from Ebay.

Not all plecos eat the same things.  Some won't eat algae wafers while others are omnivores and need a mixed diet.  Even purely herbivore plecos require a mix of veggies in their diet.  If you let me know what pleco you have I can give you a menu for them.  :)

Hi Peter
Regarding the fish you have in your tank. You say you have 3 pleco, do you know what sort. I had a common plec. It reached 12 inches in length fully grown, also they become very territorial when adult. They are often sold as algae eaters to keep the tank clean. This is a myth. They will eat just about anything, even smaller fish. Due to their size, they add a large bio load to your tank filter.
I hope you find this info useful. :)

Wow I know plecs ate almost anything veggie; algae, spinach, squash, courgette etc, even wood, but I never heard of them eating fish... is this like an otocinclus can attach itself to a discus or is it a swallow them whole type of thing?

There are many types of pleco that will eat fish.  Even some predatory ones.  One that springs to mind is the L029 pleco aka the Galaxy pleco that is a carnivore, it's a great looking fish but it will happily eat smaller fish given the chance.  Even the common pleco, that is an omnivore, will opportunistically eat fish as it gets bigger.  Many people think of plecos as clean algae eaters in general but they're far from it.  Even plecos that eat algae will poop so much that it actually makes the tank dirtier.  So be prepared to make regular water changes.  When I had the L397 in quarantine I was doing a daily 20% water change to keep the water quality up and don't expect many species to breed with anything less.
