I have noticed this over the past few days. I input a fish into my 'tank', the CC says (for instance) 'This tank is too small for Sparkling Gourami', then it says 'Fish Recommended for your Tank: Sparkling Gourami.'

Huh?

One fish that will grow up to 4cm. No other fish. Plants, yes.

Just double-checking that you're definitely putting in the tank's dimensions/length and water volume? I'm sure you are but, on occasion, I've forgotten to do that, resulting in the tank being considered too small (and, from recollection, the same species of fish being recommended as I'm trying to put in). I'll have a go myself now and see what happens.

Also, what size tank is it that you're trying to add them to? It might just be that the tank's dimensions you're inputting is considered too small.

PS. I've now had a go. Indeed, when I left out the tank's length and volume, it told me the tank was too small, but, when I put in my own tank size's dimensions (60cm length, 47L volume), it was fine. I then went to "search for fish", specified "only fish compatible..." and "under 5cm", and a list of 65 fish were suggested.

The CC has picked up that the tank length and volume are too small for sparkling gouramis. And it recommends keeping them only with other sparkling gouramis even in large tanks. Obviously the CC is not programmed with other fish that are compatible.

Query - are you looking for fish suitable for your new 14 litre tank? Sparking gouramis need a tank with a footprint of at least 45 x 30 cm - see Seriously Fish.

Yes, I was putting in the length and volume. And I can accept (through gritted teeth LOL) that my tank is not considered big enough for even one sparkling gourami.

What was confusing me was the fact that it said I couldn't, but then recommended the same fish instead!
