Corydoras with snails - safe?

Anyone ever kept corydoras with snails? Just wondering about the potential for a snail to be making its way across a tank, using its feelers, only for those feelers or the snail itself to find itself on top of a resting cory which in turn spikes the snail due to its spike / defence mechanism in its spine?

I have four good sized C.Ornatus in my tank, with the two Cappuccino Faunus snails and a bunch of Rabbit snails...  Plus, the enigmatic vanishing Black Helmet Nerite snail...  Certainly hasn't been any bother with the snails so far...  I find that they can retract into their shells at breakneck speed, if or when the need arises...

Likewise I have had Corys, Nerites and Rabbits for years without a problem The Corys just bustle through tickling the snails while looking for food.

Very helpful, all - many thanks; that's one of my concerns eliminated.

Actually, Matt, I was actually considering habrosus on this occasion (and for a change from before). However, it's interesting that SF makes specific mention in its final two notes points about the spine stings and venom, and I'm wondering if these are worse in habrosus for them to be specifically mentioned.

The other issue I had read about in http://www.tfhmagazine.com/details/articles/corydoras-in-miniature-full-article.htm was that habrosus "seem to like being in the company of just one or two conspecifics and can often be found poking about on their own" (unlike pygmaeus or hastatus). That made me think that I might actually be able to consider a small group of them, keeping me just under my stocking limit. However, having cross-checked with the 'bona fide' sources of SF and Planet Catfish (Fishbase had no info on minimum numbers), I think perhaps this is out-of-date. Unfortunately, therefore, I think I've gone "full circle" again and am going to have to wait.

A larger tank would be the answer to everything, really...  ::)
