Title: Is New Posts censoring me?

Lately whenever I come to the forum I get a little black box or two saying 'User X has replied to thread Y', and 'User A has replied to thread B' etc etc. But when I click on New Posts those threads are not displayed, but others are.

I might have to take a look at those, do they cascade down the screen and then fade out?


I often get those black box white writing notifications too, I'm not sure if they're adding value (something's not quite working as anticipated)

Should be pretty accurate though, let me know if those work as expected!


Update: I've changed the behaviour so that those black boxes only notify you of private messages. Pointless having notifications for things that aren't accurate! I don't know why they did that. I suspect it was some kind of upgrade to the DB that affected the lookup. Not worth the time trying to figure out why exactly :)

Yes they'd disappear after a few seconds.

So, top link opens Recent Unread Topics.

Bottom link opens Updated Topics.

The two pages do not show the same posts...

Anyhoo, if you've got rid of the black boxes that's fair enough by me.

Where do you find that link on the forum Matt? It showed me 18 threads. I always click on "Show unread posts since last visit" which showed me 3...

Click "all unread topics"... to the bottom right of the table of unread posts since last visit.

I don't have that option. I'm on an iPhone. All there is below the list of unread posts is "Mark all forums read".

I'm on android and see the page as below.. do you not have the same view?

Please note the option disappears when on the all unread topics page as per second screenshot.
