Levelling the fish tank............

Put the cupboard up for my fish tank, it's a purpose built cupboard for the Fluval 200, I had an idea that the floor in the corner of the room wasn't exactly level, but i didn't realise how much it was out  :yikes:. Ive had to choc the cupboard up 15mm at the front and pack the gap out as needed using wooden wedges to get it level. All looks OK now and will hopefully start the cycling of the tank tomorrow  :)

If you have carpet in the room, and have managed to push the cabinet right into the corner, the back of the cabinet may be raised slightly by the carpet grippers. Pulling the tank forward a bit may help.
Saying that, you may just be unlucky and have an uneven floor.
Glad to hear you've managed to get it sorted and are ready to start cycling the tank.  :)

Another option is to put the stand on a large concrete block (assuming you can find a flat one) and use the wedges under that. This doesn't risk twisting the cabinet. Though it would have to be pretty big to go under a 200 litre tank  :-\

Thanks for the advice and it is good reference for the future. The floor is wood, vinyl type and is is definitely the floor running out to the centre of the room, must say its typical of the area were I live and the floors throughout the house are all a bit wonky. Concrete slab makes sense and I like that idea, maybe you could vinyl wrap it to the same colour of the cupboard ?. I don't expect any problems and I've been laying and standing on the cupboard and there is no movement whatsoever and i'm a heavy lad  :), but only time will tell.

I had exactly the same problem in my house. Laminate floor with a run on it. I used 2 pieces of 6” x 1” thick Oak placed under the edges of the cabinet (to spread the load) and plastic wedges used in double glazing. The good thing about these were they are inexpensive and you can get a whole box of various sizes. Ideal for getting the tank level.
