Plant Identification

im looking to get a name for a plant i picked up at my local fish store it was the last one of them and had no name tag but i really liked the look of it as had not seen one like it before since then i ahve been trying to find the name for it.
i have never had much sucess with plants in my fishtanks and this time am making a real effort with them to insure i have a really nice looking tanks as its not just the fish that make it look nice its the plants too.

here is a pic of it any help will be much apreciated

Welcome to the forum, Turbominijj.

That's not an aquarium plant I recognise, but it does look suspiciously like a house plant, I'm afraid. Somebody 'greener' than me will be along shortly to give you a proper answer.

i wondered this as i remember my mum having something similar on the windows sill however it was brought from a large aquatics place and was in water when i got it it was the last one lo....

It's a dracena and it is a houseplant, unfortunately. I don't know why shops insist on selling these as aquarium plants, it's fairly common  :-\

I've got a very healthy one growing happily on my kitchen windowsill, its stems are also sold sometimes as lucky bamboo,
