Feeding Vegetables

Hello, can anyone advise me the best way to feed my fish vegetables, primarily as a treat. I have tried cucumber and courgette, but these just float on the surface and the fish appear not interested. On the other hand I have fed them defrosted skinned peas and these go down a treat. I have also read that you should perhaps cook the veggies first. Any views?

Blanch the veggies first to soften them. I find 1min in the microwave or with some boiling water out of the kettle is fine. I weight the courgette down with a lead strip from a plant I bought. Take it out after a day so it doesn't foul the water.

My fish love a bit of cucumber but haven't tried courgette or peas as of yet - will have to give em a try.

....and remember, no sprouts!!!

6 bell pepper sweet pepper (long red pepper)
7 sweet potato
8 normal potato
9 carrot
10 turnip
11 parsnip
12 pumpkin
13 butter nut squash
14 cauliflower
15 cabbage
16 lettuce
17 kohlrabi
18 sprouts
19 broccoli
20 celery

now for the fruit
1 strawberries
2 mango   
3 melon
4 pear
5 peach   
6 banana (have tried it but can be messy only good for big fish ie oscars and the likes )

have tried nuts before my old pacus used to like wall nuts and Brazil nuts with the shells on

in 40 plus years i have never fed tiger barbs veggies
they might have a nibble on a floating blanched lettuce
leaf you could puree some Vegetables and place it in some
ice cube molds and freeze it and feed it that way might get
messy if they dont eat it
