Feeding flies to fish?

Since my husband bought a few new plants recently, we've had quite a few of these tiny flies flying around our flat and which we assume have come out of the soil. There are a few dead ones lying on the windowsill. I'd imagine the fish might like them as an evening treat. Any thoughts on this ie is any harm likely to be caused?

As long as it's not dead because you blasted it with flyspray, I can't think of any reason why not.

What could be more natural? This is a sciarid fly and you are right, it probably did come out of the plant compost, if there are lots they can feed on the plant roots and cause harm.

Thanks, both.

Having spent yesterday evening pondering about whether there was any possibility that the flies had died of consumption of soap or cleaning products elsewhere in the flat, and therefore might pose a hazard after all, I then discovered that they've been wiped up this morning. There are a few living ones around, though, so I expect the fish will still get their chance of a natural meal in due course...
