Hi All I have  2 Discus Red Melons.  One has not eaten like the other one this has been from day one but I have gave him a good chance but he have not changed all the other of my Discus have never a problem.
I have tried all the food you can think of from dried to Beef heart mix off Richard Hudson Discus UK. Muscle mix off Mark Neill of Ditone Discus.
He also seems to have a lump on his side which has also been there from day one, Is there any advise what should I do also he hides a lot behind the plants.
I have been keeping a eye on him to see if any other Fish are pestering him the only one which is now and again is the other Red Melon which I had with him the same time about 4 Months ago now.
Looking Forward to a Reply Regards Peter.

Hi Peter

I'm afraid I'm not going to be much help as I've never kept discus.

Regarding food, I have found this site has a few recipes for making discus food; one of them might tempt your reluctant feeder.

There is also a good guide to discus here if you haven't already found it. [The only thing I will warn about this guide (for anyone who reads it) is that it uses the old method of fishless cycling, the one where you add a lot of ammonia so that nitrite gets so high it slows the cycle, if not stalls it completely]
The article does say that discus need to be kept in groups of at least 5, so it may be that with you having just 2, one is picking on the other which results in the one of them hiding a lot.

The only other advice I can offer is maybe find a discus specialist forum, and ask on there  :-\

Welcome, Peter!  Good to see you here.

I can't add anything to Sue's helpful advice above but do wish you the best of luck with following that advice and also the suggestions in the links that she's signposted you to.
